The Scharfegg is a special Lagrein from South Tyrol, which is lovingly produced by the Pitzner Brothers on a total of 9 hectares in various individual vineyards. Pitzner is a small winery that plays by the rules of nature : In the vineyard, they work herbicide-free and follow the cycle of nature. Vinification:

Variety: 100% Lagrein
Vinification: maceration for 12 hours, then fermentation in stainless steel tanks with maceration contact for 10-12 days.
Ageing: Biological acid degradation followed by storage in French barrique barrels (20% new wood, 80% second/third occupancy) until the end of March.

Fragrances:
Clear nuances of dark berry fruits combined with delicate violet blossoms, a fine smell of leather and a perception of refreshing eucalyptus notes.

Taste:
A very velvety and supple tannin caresses the palate, mild roasted aromas with light peppery notes accompany the drink. The fresh acidity gives it a fruity appearance on the palate.
